Carrying a proud four-generation Assemblies of God legacy, Mike Powell transitioned from his family's construction business to dedicate over 40 years to global ministry. As official AGWM missionaries, Mike and his wife, Renay, have dramatically expanded the global church by planting well over 200 churches and leading major crusades across 30 nations. Today, he leverages his fluency in Spanish and cross-cultural expertise as the founder and Executive Director of Strategic Missionary Resources, a ministry dedicated to empowering AG leaders worldwide. Beyond his expansive international impact, Mike remains deeply rooted in family, sharing 47 years of marriage with Renay, alongside their three children and seven grandchildren.

Michael Nayeke

Strategic Leadership Director

Built on more than 45 years of executive leadership—including serving 18 years as a General Superintendent—Michael Nayeke has traveled to over 40 countries conducting specialized organizational training programs. Currently based in Dallas, Texas, he serves as the Director for ‘Strategic Leadership Resources,’ where he specializes in equipping next-generation leaders and optimizing organizational effectiveness. As a certified leadership coach and mentor, Michael utilizes proven development frameworks to guide, instruct, and empower emerging and established professionals across the globe.

His teaching and coaching expertise is anchored by a Master’s in Leadership from Alphacrucis College and credentials from the Professional Coaching University, which he leverages to spearhead international leadership initiatives.

Daren Walker

SMR/SLR Funding Director

As the Funding Director for SMR/SLR, Daren Walker drives strategic financial initiatives to empower rural churches and accelerate vital missions work abroad. He expertly bridges the gap between resources and impact by partnering with local churches, non-profits, and high-level business leaders to ensure the needs of every field project are met or exceeded. Daren’s profound depth of experience is anchored by years of firsthand missionary service in Latin America and his proven track record as the executive leader of the Dallas Men’s Teen Challenge. Ultimately, his unique blend of cross-cultural insight and elite non-profit expertise ensures that every financial alliance translates into lasting global transformation.

David Barnes

Pastor David brings a powerful combination of executive marketplace acumen and over 30 years of pastoral wisdom to his strategic role on the SMR/SLR board. His foundational corporate career—holding a marketing degree, serving as a Dillard’s buyer for 23 stores, and managing high-volume retail locations—equips the board with advanced organizational strategy, budgetary precision, and large-scale operational insight. Complementing his business roots, his current leadership as Senior Pastor of High Point Assembly of God and as a North Texas District Presbyter provides the vital ecclesiastical governance and spiritual alignment required to effectively guide global ministry initiatives. Grounded by 47 years of marriage to his wife, Sharon, David’s unique intersection of commercial strategy and pastoral devotion ensures SMR/SLR is anchored in both institutional integrity and sustainable kingdom impact.

Jeff Andersen injects over 30 years of executive leadership and global asset development expertise into SMR/SLR, offering the organization capability in large-scale operational scaling. His proven track record includes building an industry leader to $425M+ in lifetime revenue generation and directing a national educational organization generating $15M+ annually, providing SMR/SLR with a masterclass blueprint for expanding global impact and sustainable funding infrastructure. Currently pursuing an MBA at Nelson University and holding elite credentials in project management (PMP) and risk management (CARM), Jeff ensures that SMR/SLR’s initiatives are executed with technical precision, rigorous risk mitigation, and fiscal oversight. Ultimately, his deep expertise in navigating multi-million-dollar ventures and orchestrating complex global operations uniquely positions SMR/SLR to maximize its strategic reach and successfully execute its ambitious world missions partnerships.
